MQM calls for Day of Mourning as Bomb blast kills 3, injures 30
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain announces day of mourning across Sindh as bomb goes off near MQM’s election campaign office at ‘Peoples Chowrangi’ in Karachi. According to sources at least 3 people killed and 30 injured due to explosion. MQM senior members have accused Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other political parties for the bomb blast. They have said that, these forces are working to destroy MQM’s vote bank in Karachi. During last five years, Karachi has witness worsening law and order situation, where scores of innocent people have lost their lives and hundreds of them are injured.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain has also appealed traders and transporters to suspend their activities in solidarity with MQM stance against terrorism. Keeping the city situation in view ‘All Private Schools Association’ (APSA) has decided to close all school across Karachi on Wednesday (April 24, 2013). Similarly, all board exams scheduled on Wednesday in Karachi are also canceled. New exams dates will be announced later. Pakistan General Elections are to be held on May 11, 2013; and terrorism incidents like these are preventing political parties to actively run their campaigns.
