ECP admits rigging in various Karachi’s polling stations
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has admitted that severe rigging was observed in various polling stations at Karachi. Polling staff at various sensitive polling stations also didn’t turn up to perform their election duties. Major complaints were reported from National Assembly seat constituency NA-250 of Karachi where people complained that ballot papers were not present. On various polling stations of NA 250 polling either started after hours of delay or didn’t occur all together. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) candidate Dr. Arif Alvi said that massive PTI supporters were barred from using their right to cast vote due to massive rigging in Karachi.
Roads in some areas of Karachi looks deserted due to miscreants activities and new reports of rigging. Muttahida Qaumi Movemen’s (MQM) Deputy Convener Dr. Farooq Sattar also held a press conference and said that voters at various Karachi constituencies were prevented from casting their votes. Despite mismanagement and disruptions, huge crowd was seen at Clifton and Defense Housing Authority (DHA) area’s polling station. Imran Khan has certainly persuaded people of Karachi especially residing in posh area to come out and vote for “Naya Pakistan”. People were also reported demanding re-polling and declaring votes cast at NA 250’s polling station as void.
