Severely injured Malala Yousafzai fighting for her life
Malala Yousafzai and two other women were brutally attacked by Taliban when they were returning from their school in Swat valley. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has accepted the responsibility of the attack said that the poor child was attacked for having views what they termed as “Pro-West, Secular and Un-Islamic”. They also vow to attack her again if she survives. Malala Yousafzai was immediately shifted to Saidu Sharif Medical Complex by an Army helicopter. Doctor has said that a bullet has penetrated into her skull but narrowly missed her brain. She is out of danger for now. But bullet has penetrated down to her backbone swelling her scull that requires sophisticated surgery that is not possible in Pakistan. It was reported that government of Pakistan is considering their options after doctor’s consultation and will sent Malala abroad for operation if needed.
Taliban infested idiotic mentality has been permeating into Pakistani tribal areas, where they tried to enforce their distorted version of Islam by force. Taliban are against education as they fears that it will empower people to raise voice against them. They have bombed several schools in recent years to discourage people to send their children to school. There are countless young girls and boys like Malala Yousafzai who want to go to school, learn, make a career and have peaceful lives. But Taliban and their sympathizers are not going to let it happen. The attack on 13 year old Malala is a testament of their fear for education and broad mindedness that is in fact true virtues of Islam.
Malala Yousafzai hails from Mingora in Swat District (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa). She started blogging under a pseudonym raising her innocent voice against atrocities of Tehrik-i-Taliban regime that has made strong hold in Swat region. Malala Yousafzai came to prominence when she was selected by the international children’s advocacy group KidsRights Foundation as a nominee for the prestigious the International Children’s Peace Prize. Malala didn’t win the award but was praised internationally for her pure heart and courage to stand up for the brutality of Taliban. We pray that Allah give Malala Yousafzai and other two woman health and give us all courage to stand up again the atrocities and brutality of forces of Taliban.
