Madonna dedicates song to Malala & slams Taliban
Where attack on 14 year old Malala Yousafzai has sparked anger against Taliban atrocities across Pakistan, world leaders, human right activist and general people around the globe are showing support to young blogger and education activist Malala. Pop singer and music icon Madonna has also joined others in paying tribute to young Malala Yousafzai who was shot by Taliban in Swat valley, Pakistan while returning home from school. If you know Madonna, throughout her career she has created news and further her career by doing creative & outrageous publicity and performance stunts. And she is really good at it. In her latest concert at Los Angeles, Madonna not only dedicated her song “Human Nature” to young Malala Yousafzai, but also stripped her costumer to show tattoo on her back saying “MALALA”.
The Material Girl Madonna said to the crowd “This made me cry”, she continued “The 14-year-old Pakistani girl who was shot on a school bus for writing a blog about how important education was to her. The Taliban stopped her bus and shot her. Do you understand the sickness and absurdity of this?” She then shouted “Support education! Support women!”. But that was not enough for Madonna. She then striped down to black bra and panties revealing “MALALA” name tattoo on her back. You may find this shameless publicity stunt appalling, but this is for what Madonna is known for. She not only paid homage to Malala Yousafzai, slammed the Taliban, highlighted the women and education issues and made headline worldwide for yet again controversial stunt in her “MDNA” tour.
