Junaid Khan left ‘Call’ to peruse solo singing & acting career
The lead guitarist Xulfi of the band ‘Call’ has announced the departure of their lead singer Junaid Khan. He will be replaced by the Roxen’s singer Mustafa Zahid. This news has not came as a surprised to most of the Call’s fans as they were spotting Junaid more in television dramas then concerts and band jams. Singer turned actor Junaid Khan has successfully made place for himself in television plays where he can be seen playing the lead roles with big production houses. Recently he has done plays in lead role with hot actress Saba Qamar (Yahan Pyar Nahi Hai) and hot model Sanam-Saeed (Mata-e-Jaan) . Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, who is popularly known by his nickname Xulfi, explains the obvious reason of the Juniad’s exit. He said that he was quite busy with his acting career, family and other commitments. He also mentioned that Junaid Khan is also in working on his solo album.
Xulfi the lead man of band was disappointed to see his lead singer leaving. But Xulfi should have seen it coming. Pakistani television industry has witness a tremendous growth in recent years. Xulfi’s ex-band mate Fawad Khan from Entity Paradigm (EP) has also become big TV star with the success of the drama serial ‘Humsafar’ last year. The play’s success has opened lot of doors for Fawad. In addition of becoming the most soughed after model and actor, he has also launched his branded men’s clothing line as well. Junaid Khan is following Fawad’s success trail and his career is on the rise. Xulfi sounds disappointed with Junaid exit. Xulfi mentioned that he has done solo projects as well but have tried to put the band first. It is quite obvious that Junaid’s acting career and other commitments were not the only thing that has drew them apart. But when things start to fall apart, it is better to part ways professionally and remained friend than dragging the band to its ultimate demise. Now we have to wait and see the new sound of the ‘Call’ that has seen many changes in its lineup since its inception.
