Javed Miandad finally got Indian Visa
Controversy was created when Pakistani legendary cricketer Javed Miandad’s Visa to watch last One Day International (ODI) between Pakistan and India in New Delhi was delayed. According to media reports Shiv Sena and even Congress leaders have objected that Javed Miandad is a relative of Dawood Ibrahim and he should not be given Visa to visit India. Dawood Ibrahim is wanted for several crimes in India including 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.
Javed Miandad’s son Junaid Miandad got married to Dawood Ibrahim’s daughter Mahrukh back in 2005 in Dubai. Indian government has defended its decision by saying that Javed Miandad is a top ranking official of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and he is not on any prohibition list. This decision will be applauded by cricket fans and peace loving people of India who will enjoy legendary batsman company in Pakistan and India last ODI series match in New Delhi. Pakistan is already leading ODI series by 2-Nil, all thanks to young blood in Pakistani team. Nasir Jamshed and Junaid Khan have performed extremely well during this crunch Pak-India series.
Congress leader Jagdambika Pal, while objecting Indian government’s decision, has said that granting a visa to Javed Miandad who is a relative to Inida’s most wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim will hurt the sentiments of Indian people. But we applaud Indian government decision that will improve relations between the two neighborly nations and will help strengthen the sport ties. It will also be beneficial to millions of cricket fans on both side of the Wagah border as well.
But according to latest news updates Javed Miandad has cancelled his plans to visit India for watching the Pakistan-India ODI series final in New Delhi due to the amid controversy.
