Hina Rabbani Khar termed Dr. Tahirul Qadri’s demands as unconstitutional
Pakistan foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar has termed Dr. Tahirul Qadri’s demands as preposterous & unconstitutional. FM Hina Rabbani Khar was responded to question at the Asia Society in New York regarding Dr. Tahirul Qadri’s long march. Islamic cleric and chairman of Minhajul Quran International (MQI) Dr. Tahirul Qadri is leading a long march and currently occupying main streets of Pakistani capital Islamabad demanding wide ranging electoral reforms.
Hina Rabbani Khar said that Dr. Tahirul Qadri is attempting to derail the democratic process in very unconstitutional manner. She further explained that MQI’s chairman only manage to gather 30,000 odd people in Islamabad and calling it a massive crowd would be an understatement. But Hina Rabbani Khar didn’t stop here. She further ridicules Dr. Tahirul Qadri who is a dual national. According to Pakistani law, a dual national cannot contest any provincial or national assembly election. Dr. Tahirul Qadri is a Canadian national have spend last several years in Canada and UK. But Pakistan foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar failed to mention the disappointing performance of highly unpopular PPP led coalition government. The whole economy is on a verge of collapse due to sever power crisis, corruption and lack of governance. The growing extremism is another front where government is failing miserably.
